“Girls’ Progress = Goals’ Progress: What Counts for Girls” : International Day of the Girl Child.

The future appears promising for girls from all backgrounds taken in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals and progressive legal reforms in Malawi. Data collection that is sex disaggregated,
systematically analysed and incorporated into programmes and policies allows stakeholders to monitor the progress and wellbeing of the target groups-girls and young women. Services such as education, health, safety and human rights are better delivered with information garnered that reveals girls specific needs. Much more needs to be done on data gathering-evidence based approaches rather than theoretical prove more effective. Let’s celebrate the girl child today, tomorrow and work together to bring forth positive progress. #girlsprogress #goalsprogressday-of-the-girl-child
