Economic Empowerment through VSLs’

In Nkhotakota District, where a field office for WLSA Malawi is located, with operational scope spread across two Traditional Authorities ( T/A Malengachanzi and T/A Mwansambo) WLSA Malawi has trained 10 groups of community members in entrepreneurial skill management.   The photograph depicts part of a grouping of 18 members of the community (14 women and 4 men) who kick started a village savings loan group after receiving training last year. The grouping is chaired by a woman. Members are currently engaged in different small scale businesses such as selling rice, groundnuts,tomatoes and second hand clothes amongst other businesses and currently have plans to expand their scope of businesses.
